How to use the pricing math
Price from the margin backward.
01
Enter every cost
Include item cost, shipping labels, packaging, repairs, cleaning, and any cost tied to getting the item sold.
02
Choose a realistic fee rate
Use the marketplace fee for where the item will likely sell, then add a fixed order or processing fee if needed.
03
Set both targets
A margin target protects efficiency; a minimum dollar profit protects your time on low-priced items.
FAQ
Reseller pricing questions answered
How do I calculate break-even resale price?

Break-even price equals your total item costs plus fixed fees, divided by one minus the platform fee rate. If costs are $20 and the marketplace fee is 13%, break-even is about $22.99 before any desired profit.

What price should I list at if buyers send offers?

Use the suggested minimum as your lowest acceptable offer, then list higher if the marketplace encourages negotiation. Many resellers list with room for 10–20% offers, but the exact buffer depends on category demand and sell-through speed.

What is a good profit target for resellers?

There is no universal target. A useful rule is to require both a minimum dollar profit and a minimum ROI. A $5 profit may not justify photography and packing even if the percentage looks high.

How is this different from a profit calculator?

A profit calculator starts with a sale price and tells you the result. A pricing calculator starts with your costs and goals, then tells you the sale price needed to avoid losing margin.
